Subject: Old Stormcast and New together?

So I have a good load of Stormcast figures. The “fatter ones” from the first two editions, and then the “slimline ones” from Dominion era.
(Basically it was the first 20 issues of Mortal Realms, so whatever came in those.
And then two lots of Dominion (minus one of the Yndrasta (sp?) sprues).
So it’s a bit of a mix.
But with now all the new Stormcast kits coming out, some almost look like the replacements for some of the fatter stormcast models.
Are they just the cooler versions of basically the same thing?
Should I look to doing one lot or the other or just mix it up without issue?
Are they better game and lore wise?
(I feel like lore wise it would be annoying for the older stormcast if they are almost being replaced already).

The Thunderstrike SCE are the same SCE as before (albeit of a certain elite caliber, as not all SCE are able to attune themselves) but with better equipment. The 40k analogy would be a new mark of armor on the same marines, instead of primaris. The battletome even goes out of its way to state that the older units are very much still relevant & commonly used.
As an army, yes they mix quite well. That would be the ideal, even, as doing just the newer units leaves out a lot of potent tools.

Hmm ok. Well that’s good to know.
New Mk Armour makes sense.
Well at least if I do decide to keep the stuff rather than sell, I have a good amount.

I happily mix Stormcast models from all the releases in my armies. Liberators are my core battleline with some Vanguard Raptors for support along with some of the new Thunderstrike dudes. They look fine together on the tabletop in my opionion.

All you have to do is fire three rounds a minute, and stand |
