Maybe the designs weren't ready or they had trouble making them?
But yeah, they are better than what was shown. I'm not saying human factions are bad as you generally want to release something your players can recognize as the "safe" option, but three obvious human factions to start with were a bit much, especially when the overall aesthetics were pretty out there and trans-humanism is supposed to be a major theme of the setting.

It doesn't help that those factions weren't that impressive to look at.
So you have bald guys in lame looking white armour, bald guys in the same armour as the other guys except it's black with bio-mechanical stuff (I actually liked that design for them, admittedly) and bald guys in blue rags. Yay.
