Hello, fairly new to the hobby (or, at least, after a long hiatus), and definitely new to painting, so please excuse me if this is a silly question.
I have decided I want to focus on painting and I have opted to try a primaris lieutenant as my first 'serious' effort, as the model is relatively plain whilst having enough detail to provide a bit of a challenge. I have opted to paint him in White Scars livery as I have a White Scars pauldron in my bits box, and white seems t be a challenging colour to try.
In my bits box I also found a pauldron which I *think* might be from the firstborn command squad sprue, but I'm not 100%. It's quite plain but features a capital 'i', which I'm guessing has something to do with the Inquisition or the Deathwatch. Is this correct, and if so would it be worn on the right shoulder? Is it feasible that my White Scars lieutenant would wear it, and if so how is it painted? All silver, like the Deathwatch pauldrons, or perhaps white to match his armour with the letter picked out in gold or silver?
I'm not a total stickler for lore-accurate models but I do like things to make thematic sense, and so don't want to use an inappropriate design!
Thanks
