Greetings Dakka Dakka,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I am a Necron fan and have a fair bit of them. I am going to be documenting my process, because it is motivating to get more stuff done.
A bit of info: I like
40K in this order

ainting/modelling > Playing > Lore. I have been painting for a long time and used to play TKs. Got quite annoyed when
GW just deleted my army, but got into Necrons 2 years ago. They are awesome (space
TK?

).
I have some 'stupid' personal rules:
1: I only play with fully finished minis (I do not mind facing massive proxy/grey hoards though).
2: What you see is what you get, except for weapon loadouts. I like to see a version of each mini with a different gun for coolness factor.
3: I keep an accurate list on how many points of Necrons I have and how much I have painted. My own rule is: Do not get more then half of my total points unpainted. I am pretty close to this, so I better get to it!
I am working on my Illuminor Szeras, because I want to field him at the start of june. At the moment he is in this state:
He is nearing finished. I need to work on his 'smoothy' as I call it and the dude he is drawing it from mostly.
I just finished a third plasmacyte yesterday to be able to adhere to my rule of 50% painted:
The one on the right is the new one, for a glorious 3 total!
I also recently got a Sentry Pylon with deathray and a Tomb Sentinel from forge world. Unfortunately Forge World resin is really bad. I have a lot of resin from companies like Creature Caster, Zealot miniatures, etc. This is the worst resin I've seen. Huge blocks, lots of flash... this will take a bit to clean up. I managed to cut of all the large blocks and am at this stage:
Unfortunately a part got broken. I do not think it was the shipping, because the broken off parts were not in the bag. It is two small supports, I can probably green stuff or plasticard it though. Not going to hassle with
FW's replacement process.
To finish off my introductory post here is a Spyder I finished last week:
So much detail on his belly that you can barely see, shame.
