In WD 136 there were a bunch of templates for Ork tanks that subsequently got released as Epic models - Gobsmasha, Lungbursta, BRaincrusha etc. But the 2nd Ed ORk Codex just gives you the basics - Battlewagons, buggies, warbikes, skorchas. Did they ever get rules for these in 2nd Ed? Or indeed in any subsequent edition?

IIRC Armorcast made models for them, so there should be 2nd Ed rules somewhere...

Possibly in the Citadel Journal. But I don’t think we got any such thing in White Dwarf.

WD or the Journal had instructions on building a Gobsmasha, and rules.

WD did the Gobsmasha for Rogue Trader. Whilst my memory is far from perfect, I really don’t recall that being reprinted.

If I remember there were a kind of vehicle design rules in the dark Millennium book.
So you could create them yourself but I don't know if that was just a way to swap weapons on a vehicle or add them to a vehicle.

But I can't remember the particulars.

Remember kids, Games Workshop needs you more than you need them.

I found some stats for the Gobsmasha, but they're basically in code compared to what we have now

Thanks everyone - I have a PDF of WD 136 with the RT rules & templates for the Gobsmasha (which I am very willing to share, DM me if wanted), just wondered what I could run it as in 2nd - not to mention all the other cool stuff like the Braincrusha & Lungbursta that it has templates for.

Ideally, I want to have an Orky Armoured Cavalry brigade, as it means I won't have to buy any more infantry... ;-)

Armorcast did their own magazine with rules for their models.

They did the same for the Orks, eldar, tyranids, etc. Including the first version of the Revenant titan (and also the tempest ultra heavy grav tank) and Phantom.

That's the article I remember. I never bought the issue, but I remember flicking through it in a GW store back in the day.

I think the trove did have them. I had a couple of issues (which had rules for 2nd ed for the revenant, phantom and tempest, and a couple of baneblade hull variants).

The magazine was called Inquisitor. Not sure what issues had what after all these years. Any rules you find in it will be for 2e.
But start here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inquisitor_(magazine)
Then go searching EBay, your favorite corners of the internet, etc.
