Hi Dakkadakka!
I'm in the process of planning a colour scheme for a future segment of my 40k army and wanted to make my starting point the pink hue used on the SAS desert Land Rovers ( Link contains some good reference photos.)
I'm having trouble identifying the correct paint/mix to get either this specific or a decently approximate shade, with colour blindness partly being an issue. I'm only familiar with Citadel paints and their selection of pinks are poor, but I've started looking at Vallejo and Army Painter ranges too as a FLGS has them available.
Any suggestions of either single paints or a mix of them would be very welcome. This has proved harder than expected.

Mix your own with red, white and beige/sand. Play around with tones until you're happy. These things never have uniform colours. They would have been field applied to varying standards of finish and quality. Tonal variation is good. It gives realistic quality to units/armies.

I hadn't thought that much about the variation in tones, but that sounds like a really nice shout, I'll give it a go. Thanks!
Doing a little more research, I noticed that Tamiya (for their actual Pink Panther model) suggest a ratio of 10:2:1 with essentially their white, red and beige so I guess that's as good a place as any to start.

I'll also give that a look, I think my FLGS does sell some AK paints too!

Check out the LRDG Vehicle Markings and Colours and the Colours of War Conversion Chart on the Flames of War website. They suggest Artillery Red (VMC 957 Flat Red) mixed with white.

Ah excellent, that also looks like a really nice resulting shade. Thanks for another great suggestion!
