Strikeforce -3CPs Questor Mechanicus, House Taranis
555 Crusader Thermal Cannon, Ironspear missile pod (Warlord) Knight of Mars. Armour of the Sainted Ion (Relic). Master Tactician (Exalted Court) - Machine Focus (Bonus Tradition)
480 Paladin Twin Icarus Autocannon Knight Baron (Ion Bulwark) Princeps -1CP
150 Warglaive Meltagun
150 Warglaive Meltagun
155 Helverin
1490 Points Starting CPs 8
Fitting Knights into 1500 points is a bit of a struggle but I think this one works pretty well. The lone Helverin holds my home Objective, the Paladin goes in the mid-field to spread its Bondsman abilities as widely as possible, the Crusader positions for optimum firing position. The Warglaives protect the big boys, particularly if the Crusader is at risk of being charged.
The combination of Mechanicus (each regens 1 Wound per turn), Taranis (6+++) and Ion Bulwark and Sainted Ion on the two big Knights makes for a reasonably durably force.
The real kick from this list though is abusing the Calculated Targeting stratagem on the Crusader for a silly number of Mortal Wounds. The way this works is the following steps:
1. The Paladin uses its Princeps ability to give the Crusader reroll 1s both to Hit and to Wound (powerful with all the guns on the Crusader)
2. The Crusader can then use Calcuated Targetting for 0CPs once per game thanks to Master Tactician
3. The Crusader then unloads with Rerolls of 1s with all those guns. The Crusader also gets 1 extra full reroll thanks to Machine Focus
4. The Crusader uses Knight of Mars to guarantee a 6 to Wound (prefferably on the Thermal Cannon) to generate a silly number of Mortal Wounds.
On average this should kick out about 12 MWs per turn plus a whole lot of regular damage. This guy should be able to one-shot even Mortarion without too much trouble as well annihilating even tough infantry like Custodes or Inner Circle Terminators in cover. Against lesser targets, he can split fire to annihilate multiple units with the other Knights able to mop up. This list can basically guarantee taking out my opponent's biggest unit T1 which should be pretty hard to come back from.
