I AM A MARINE PLAYER

"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

I love the Dodo Rider!

Can't do Kickstarter anymore so I'm going to have to keep an eye out for him at retail.

Just checked out the store on their website. A version of the same Dodo sculpt without the rider is already available:

Without a sci-fi range, there's not much at Black Scorpion for me right now. Even so, I'm really impressed with the resin fantasy sculpts Black Scorpion they display on their webstore. Hope they'll consider doing a few Rogue Tradery sci-fi guys in the future, as I like their style.

Yeah, Black Scorpion makes nice models. I used some cowboys and hillbillies to make Fallout models before Wasteland Warfare came around. I bought some undead pirates, too, since you never know when you might need undead pirates.

I figure some of the pirate civilians can fairly easily be converted to 40k nobility or priesthood. They have a cardinal or bishop or whatever that doesn't even take any work at all if you're not inclined to add a few purity seals or a bionic eye.

Not liking the samurai, why did they have to make her female?

Ahistorical female samurai break the immersion in my world of wizards, elves and dodo-riding halflings

She's female so she can have cat ears in her hair so we know she's Japanese so we know she's a real samurai.

Proof:

Spoiler:

Does he have cat ears in his hair? No, because no hair. So he's not Japanese. So he's no real samurai. I bet his name isn't even Tom Cruise!

Oh OK then, as long as they did it for Cat Girl reasons rather than woke reasons

As for Last Samurai, Lord I hated that film. I should have loved it, it had the two best dressed armies in history fighting it out.

Even with Tom Cruise managing to be a better Samurai after going to Samurai summer camp than guys who'd been Samurai their whole lives, I could stomach that.

But having Cruise survive being shot multiple times (with 19th century medical aid!) and then limping back to tell the government to honor the way of the samurai...

Did like, no one on the set even bother to look up what happened in Japan after the Meiji Restoration?

Hint it involves Korea, Manchuria, Nanjing and Pearl Harbor, and the rationale was all about honoring the samurai way.

I like to think 19th century medicine is based on rampant alcoholism to make your body a place where germs go to die. I think they had that in the movie. And because he's a weakling westerner the bullets passed right through him so he didn't get lead poisoning. It all makes sense!

As for the rest, trifles, trifles, trifles, and Michael Bay told me Murica won that one. So it's all good in the end.
