The Avatar with the new rules is monster in melee, so I wonder if he can beat Skarbrand 1x1?

On a quick glance the avatar floors Skarbrand. Codex bloat probably. On a 1 vs 1 it is more close.

It is very close, but the Avatar halves incomming damage that seems to be an important rule. And they have +2 damage on its attack. Although Skarbrand does get some nice tricks of his own as well. Avatar also has better movement and the srands of fate as a lot of this is who can get of an attack before the other one swings back on a brackedet profiele. The best option is to shoot them with other units.

Even with Skarbrand attacking first he is unlikely to win. 8 attacks on the charge, likely gets 8 hits, wounding on 3+'s (s15 vs t8), so 6 wounds. 4++ saves half, so 3 lots of d6 damage, halved. Expecting to do 6 damage to the avatar.

The Avatar responds with 8 attacks, with 7 hits, wounding on 2+'s, so 6 wounds. Skarbrand saves 2, so 4 go through resulting in Skarbrand most likely dying.
