Being someone completely new to HH, I have a question:

Is it viable to have multiple Spartans? I'll be using Iron Hands by the way.

I grabbed the Age of Darkness box, but now would be the time to get a second if I'm going to do it at all (since they can currently be had fairly cheap do to box splitting).

I do plan on picking up the Kratos as well, but that's not really time sensitive.

it depends - there are better choices for the HS Slots, but it's a good choice for a DT.

They're a big points sink and are always a big target, so not really.

I normally don't buy many multiples of big stuff, but since the Spartan is a transport I wasn't sure.

It's only worth having more than one if you know you'll be doing loads of Apoc size games. Land Raiders serve just as well, are cheaper in-game and you can pick them up for bonkers cheap second-hand.

Yeah not im not a fan of Spartans for the same reason im not a fan of LR.

You basically make a piñata for your enemy to pop. If you are putting cheap units in there? sure worth taking, but if you are stacking characters and big 300+ point units, you are just making a big juicy target to kill.

Two Spartans are worthwhile when Ferrus Manus is around. Pick the Rite of War where your vehicles ALL gain Outflank USR and surprise your opponent by unloading lots of stuff in his flank. Also don´t forget that the Iron Hands and their Primarch make vehicles very hardy because of "It will not die" and characters with "Battlesmith".
