Will the alliterations ever stop?
Like a typical Dad Joke, I’ll not stop until it gets old. And the definition of old keeps expanding to my death +10. 10 what? Years? Days? Hours? What do I care? There is no money to be made here*. It’s not like the Disney getting to extend it’s protections now to +95 years after the death of the creator. Up from 28 years in the 70’s.

But this is not about Trademark protection. This is about a gathering of friends practicing for the HMGS Theme Ancients Tournament. The theme is Western Europe and their Enemies**: All armies must be between the years 500-999 AD
list 109, 124-133, 141-165. Legal allies may be outside those list #s, but must fall within year range. Options indicating Europe, North Africa are permitted. No others.
**(No Elephants, No Knights, Maximum 2 Cataphracts in army)

So by declaring my Ancient Germans to be from Saxony, flip 3 useless medium cavalry for 3, arguably less useful “Great” Fyrd, and Walla! Anglo-Saxons!

*Actually not quite true. After blogging with ad’s for more than 10 years, I finally got a check from Google ad’s for $106.28. $100 must be a threshold where they actively tracked me down with a “you know?” email.

Enjoy

In the ultimate, victory through excess was cheaper than defeat without waste.
