Looking for feedback on a casual list with the new CSM codex. I started collecting models again after 15 years of not playing (used to play Eldar), and decided to wait until the new CSM codex came out to test things out. Anyway, this will be an Alpha Legion list, so will take advantage of all the spicy trickery with forcing targets, redeploying, etc etc...
Let me know what you think! (this is based on models I own, and these are basically the only models I own besides some daemon units...I know the Defiler got nerfed this edition but it's a sweet model so I'm playing it)

~HQ:~

Daemon Prince (Slaanesh, Warlord)
-Hellforged Sword, Wings, Thaa'ris and Rhi'ol the Rapacious (is this thing worth it? Seems risky), Delightful Agonies, Diabolic Strength, Master of Diversion

Warpsmith (base loadout)

~Troops:~

5 Legionaries w/ boltguns
-Heavy Bolter

5 Legionaries w/ Astartes Chainswords and bolt pistols
-Heavy Chainaxe, Plasma Pistol
Rhino (Warpsmith rides with this squad, maybe kept close to defiler)
-Havoc Launcher

~Fast Attack:~

5 Warp Talons

~Heavy Support:~

Defiler
-Reaper Autocannon, Defiler cannon, Scourge

5 Havocs
-2 Autocannons, 2 Lascannons

Total: 1000pts

I did buy models for a daemon detachment with a bloodletter bomb when I thought a Changeling would affect a Tzeentch Defiler, but you sadly can no longer have a Defiler be Tzeentch...so the warp talons are going to serve that purpose for now and maybe benefit from diabolic strength and help harass with the daemon prince.

What should change? What am I going to have trouble playing against?

Unfortunately Diabolic Strength affects a single model and not a unit, so only the Warp Talon champion would get the bonus.

Is the Warpsmith there just to buff the Defiler? I'm not sure how impressed I am with the Defiler (my conversion for it is one of my favorite models so I'm going to play it anyway, but I'm a little disappointed). A Defiler would at least be very tough in 1000 points with that much healing.

Oops! You are absolutely correct.
On that note, would Death Hex be a better option at 1000pts? Honestly not sure how much invul saves are seen in this edition in smaller point games, as it used to be a bit rare back in 3rd/4th edition.
Do you think the warp talons are a decent complement to the other units? Might help tie up enemy units that want to fall back when I hit with the daemon prince, I’m guessing.

As for the warpsmith, yes he is there primarily for the defiler but also as a decent close combat model. Should I consider a different unit instead of him? Would another Rhino be a better option? Seems like the defiler could use the support… but I’ll admit I have very little experience playing with and against chaos.
