A long time ago (15+years) I heard a story about an encounter between Khorne and Slaanesh that I thought was pretty interesting. I recently thought about it again, but can not remember where I read it. I could swear it was in an old white dwarf, or an old codex, but it's possible it was told to me by a friend at the time who just made it up. If anyone could let me know where this story originated, I'd appreciate it. Would enjoy reading it again, or at least knowing if it's a real story.
The story was about Slaanesh gifting Khorne a perfectly beautiful chalice (I think it was a chalice, it may have been something else). It was so well made, and so beautiful that Khorne couldn't help but admire it. After appreciating the beauty of the gift for a bit, Khorne was suddenly filled with rage (as he does) at the thought that he would actually appreciate the beauty of a gift offered by Slaanesh. In this fit of rage, he threw the chalice on the floor and it shattered into many pieces. Looking at the shards of the object on the floor, Khorne actually regretted his action and wished he had the wonderful chalice back. So he painstakingly gathered the shards back and re-assembled the chalice. When he realized he spent so much time and effort on this task, so much time repairing a gift from his hated enemy, he once more threw the chalice in rage and it shattered again. This process then repeated itself over and over.
