I haven't played orks in a while, since for a long time there it seemed like the game was all about buggy-spam and while I like a buggy here and there, I always preferred running the army as a mechanized infantry force with lots and lots of dakka shooting -- a playstyle that really wasn't viable for a while after the codex came out and would only become less viable as armor of contempt made ork guns and choppas have next to no armor penetration. With the most recent points changes + the buff to the WAAAGH! and the meta rebalancing that Nephilim introduced, I think I'd like to give the old boyz another shot with a list that can actually reflect the way I like my army to function. Boyz and gretchin are so cheap now that it seems like, on paper, ork mechanized infantry should be able to play the mission if not well then at the very least decently. However... I haven't had a chance yet to put it in practice.
I have 2 lists here - a Battalion and a Brigade, both more or less trying to do the same thing. If you've played orks in the Nephilim meta - in particular Bad Moons (yeah yeah I know Goffs are probably the competitive way to go -- but mine are yellow so I'm playing Bad Moons let's speak of Goffs no more), or even if not - I'd appreciate some pointers on either or both lists.
