So, I'm looking to do one or two Halloween themed minis and one of the things I want to add is a bit of leaf scatter, using a small tub from the excellent Green Stuff World:

I've prepped a few test bases to see what would work best for me, but my biggest stumble right now is the best way to adhere the leaf scatter to the base itself. GSW recommends PVA glue, which was a mixed result for me as quite a bit of the material let go a few hours after drying. I have been thinking about giving AK's sand & gravel fixer a try, but local lack of availability aside, would it even work on natural leaf scatter?

Also, best way of sealing this all in when done?

So, hobby hivemind of Dakka, help me out here!

I tend to use superglue. The downside is, any areas of glue uncovered / visible are shiny. But I've found a bit of Seraphim Sepia tones that down pretty easily.

I use regular white glue or wood glue diluted a bit. Use some type of flat clear spray sealant (typically Krylon) to seal everything.

I apply the glue, sprinkle on the leaf scatter, and sometimes then take a brush loaded with diluted glue and let it soak the scatter from the top. Once all that is dry seal it with the clear coat.

You can see some leaf scatter on my still terrain piece.

Superglue. Do more than one light application, then dust with a brown or green weathering powder to really drive up the natural aesthetic.

Modelling Scenics has a sprayable glue for fixing terrain in place. It's my go to for anything requiring a natural fallout "Just fell on top" feel to any terrain gravel/flock/leaves/debris.

You can easily DIY such glue yourself by mixing PVA glue with water (+ some ingredient I forgot, maybe dishwasher soap? Sorry! just google for it), but I like the modelling scenics branded because it's already mixed to perfect consistency.

EDIT: Here's something to give you an idea
