This is probably not competitive, but the puzzle of the AoR has been bugging me as it obviously has a lot of restrictions. I think the idea here is a fairly functional list with a few tricks.

Considerations:
- Be'lakor's aura and Command re-roll ability apply to any Disciples unit (excluding Vehicles), one of the few ways to give Possessed and Obliterators re-rolls.
- There's probably something better than the Chaos Lord as an option, but he's there for some limited re-roll ability until Be'lakor is on the board (start him off table).
- The second MoP is there for Warp Locus to provide more delivery options for Be'lakor and to put some of the key Noctic powers on the table prior to Be'lakor's arrival.

I'm sure the belakor faction has some play since you can mix/match so many different codexes. There's probably some crazy single unit combo in there somewhere.

my first impression is that, if you want to take maximum advantage of "disciples of shadows", then you want lots of shooty units that will hang out in your backfield. maybe havocs or vindicators? helbrutes with missile/melta might be good if you run out of heavy slots. gunline camps in the back while belakor and the troops run around playing for objectives. add some possessed to taste.

The legion trait is only going to be useful for the first couple rounds really. Ultimately, delivering Be'lakor and the Possessed to melee is the goal of the list. Wreathed in Shades along with the legion trait and some of the warp storm tricks is the idea.

As a theme it’s decent. Here are my issues.
1. If you want a mix of daemons and csm you need a patrol detachment so you lose 2CP out of 6.
2. You lose the csm legion and all strats relics that come with is not worth what you get
3. With this army, it’s basically a csm legion taking belakor as an hq choice. Is he worth the cost? I can’t say as I haven’t seen him in play.
But as far as army goes.
1.master of possession to go with possessed
Mutated invigoration and cursed earth to keep them alive and move closer.
2. Another master possession to go with another possessed with mutated invigoration and pact flesh
3. Warp talons
4. Oblits
5-6 possessed with icons
7. 2 cultists 1 csm
8. Havoc
9. Whatever else like accursed etc

I dont think he loses any of these things. Its the mixed Belakor special detachment from the new daemon book.

The general idea was to avoid CP tax for the AoR, leverage Warp Locus to deliver Be'lakor, use Wreathed in Shades/Legions of Shade/Shadow Pact to deliver the Possessed.

Be'lakor provides re-rolls to Obliterators and Possessed, which is difficult to get elsewhere.

As noted, the 'Legion' designation is an artifact from Battlescribe and is irrelevant. The 'Legion' trait for the CSM stuff is a fairly standard -1 to be hit outside of 12".

Accursed Cultists and Possessed both provide -1 LD auras, Be'lakor applies -2 LD. Most likely, if I wasn't avoiding the CP tax there's probably some options to leverage for this to deliver some Daemon units danger close for charges.
