Hello everyone.

I've been making a virtual tabletop system in Unity and we've been testing it on Twitch.
So far we've had a lot of fun skirmishes using a variation of the 1st Edition ruleset.
But you know how it is; enthusiasts of our hobby are few and far between.

Anyone is welcome to join us.
Chatters can jump right into the game.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

We broadcast on the "LoremasterNojah" channel.
Feel free to check out our recent broadcasts and give any feedback.

1st edition of what?

Good old original Rogue Trader.
I've implemented a few house rules for the sake of convenience.
But we're throwing in all the crazy charts and damage diagrams.
One by one the different subsystems that slow the game down are being automated.

Yesterday's battle featured a Baneblade from an old issue of White Dwarf.
It was a small skirmish between 2 forces of 600 points.
The opposing team fielded mass Ork infantry with melta stikkbombs (this was when you had melta-grenades instead of the placed bombs from 2ed onward).
They managed to disable the track and swarm all over it, the resulting explosion enveloping and nearly wiping out both sides.

It's a lot of fun but, just like irl, it can be hard sometimes to find people with the patience required.

Are you doing the 'end' of 1st ed (so power armour 3+, marines T4, etc.) or the book without the updates?

Good question.
The different versions of rules, and of units like marines, coexist with each other.
So you can field the proto-marines (should we think of them as Thunder Warriors?) or the post-upgrade marines for a few more points.

We're trying to return to the root of Rogue Trader's pulp science fiction themes so lore friendliness isn't a concern.
Players are encouraged to blend units from different lists and come up with their own army theme / backstory.
Rather than the Grimdark setting we've come to know, this galaxy is akin to the pre-Great Crusade environment where you have lots of isolated mini-empires.

In fact the 1stEd lists were so fatally unbalanced that I started with a random "menu" of shared units for everyone to choose from.
This has made things considerably simpler and easier while I've been teaching new players the game and veterans of later editions about 1stEd differences.
