So one of the things I've been running has been a narrative 40K campaign through the Dakka Forums. Players play games, report content and score VPs for the factions involved. We're on the final campaign round now. It was pretty much just me and one other player but it's been a good time. Plenty of motivation to paint, play games (yes it got someone to play a game with me that otherwise wouldn't have lol) and post content so I'd say it's been a success.

The 40K campaign is going to wrap up in early November. Is anyone interested in doing something similar with BFG? I was thinking with this Ark of Omen lore coming out, it should be plenty of fodder for some massive Chaos vs Imperial space battles.

BTW: Just trying to gauge some interest now. I'm not sure if I can quite commit to being GM for another campaign just yet. But I figured it doesn't hurt to start planning!

If people can get access to the old mobile BFG game (I still have it installed on an old notepad), that would facilitate such things well enough.

I've never done a forum campaign, but I play a lot of solo BFG with homemade rules (the trials of living remote) and wouldn't mind a no-pressure outlet. Would this mess up the idea?

Probably not. In the format I used, solo games were allowed they were just "weighted" less.


I'll ping for interest in another month or so. Looking forward to seeing what's in the lore as inspiration first. I.E. What is ol abaddon up to?

Interesting, what do you use for solo rules?

Sorry I missed it. I am up for it, but I rarely play 40K anymore. More often smaller Specialist Games and other rulesets with 40K models/lore subbed in.

Do you have a "campaign pack" for your lore and such?

Just waiting on the Ark of Omen book to come out. Would use that for inspiration.

If I'm running it, we'd just use a simple structure of campaign rounds (i.e. one battle report per 2-3 weeks) with VPs going to the victors of their respective games. Greater content put on the forums will generate more VPs.

That's been the format of the 40K event I ran here and it's worked out ok.
