So, I'm brand new to GSC. I basically just made a list out of the Start Collecting box supplemented with a few things I happen to already have and came up with this.

1000 Points Battalion Detachment: Cult of the Four Armed Emperor.

HQ
Patriarch: 140pts
WT: Shadow Stalker
Magus: 80pts.
WT: Inscrutable Cunning

Troops
Neophyte Hybrid x10 with Autoguns: 60pts
Neophyte Hybrid x10 with Cult Shotguns and Power Pick x1: 65pts
Acolyte Hybrid x5 with Hand Flamers and Lash Whip / Bonesword: 65pts

Transport
Goliath Truck with Demo Charges: 95pts

Elites
Abberants x5: 150pts
Biophagus: 40pts
Purestrain Genestealers x10 From Every Angle: 150pts
Purestrain Genestealers x10 A Trap Sprung: 155pts

So the general idea is to have the Magus and the Hybrids in the Truck, have the Biophagus buff of the Abberants, first with the 5+ FNP so they can soak lots of fire. The Genestealers come up on both turns 1 and 2 with an 8" re-rollable charge turn one and a 3D6 8" re-rollable charge turn 2 to take apart whatever really needs killing. The Patriarch runs around supporting/fighting where needed. I kinda wanted to put the Patriarch in the truck and have the Magus support the Abbarents with more defensive buffs, but I'm too paranoid that he's going to die when it blows up.

I don't have too much in the way of anti-armour, but I think the list is speedy enough that if I take out all infantry resistance fast enough that it won't matter. Also, Inscrutable cunning seems really good to me, but I'm worried it might actually be a trap. Is it actually as good as it sounds?

What do the veterans of the army think?

Hi! Ijust come back to 40K a while ago and playing genestealer cult (used to play them in 8th), I'm not a good player, but here goes a few things that hopes that helps. Anyway, try the army, play what you like and learn from your mistakes and don't desperate when your army is reduced to ashes. Normally, i try to play objetives and secundaries, during the first turns the thing goes ok, but in turn3-5 i'm suffering because i've lost a lot of models. Well, here goes what i've learn from cult:

I think the genestealers with "from every angle" deploy at 9 not 8(they don't come from underground). One nice trick is to use "They came from below" for a turn one charge with them. The second unit with "a trap sprung" is ok.

The use that i give to the 5 men acolytes units is to be underground and do Nephylim data with them, keep them as cheap as possible. In a truck i use 10 men acolyte units with drills or cutters and 5 handflamers, thinking on changing them for autopistols for saving points, but not sure yet.But you only have 5, so use them for nephylim data.

Not sure of the aberrants on foot, maybe underground or in the truck, both are risky, because one is an 8 inch charge(but you have the reroll) and the other, the transport could be destroyed and die at 1s.You can buy the "alchemist supreme" plan and give them the feel no pain pre-match.Maybe you can give them "our time is night" if you have the points. But on foot they are slow and probably they will be late everywhere or blow away before they do anything

If you buy more nephytes try to use the seismic cannons, with industrial affinity they became quite good.In four armed emperor they aren't that good, and maybe to keep them cheap for holding objetives, do nephylim and protect your characters is ok.

I don't know if" inscrutable cunnig" is worth it or not, i know that i'm always hungry for cp's, but if you don't take the WT you actually have one more CP, so maybe you don't need it ( maybe i see it wrongly but is to trade 1CP for having 1 CP)

I think your anti-tank are the aberrants, on the future maybe acolytes with drills or cutters(if you take industrial affinity) I use achilles, but normally they don't kill nothing

That's what i can say, hope that helps! (sorry for the bad english)

My main thought for when I tried it in 9th for a while is its a very tough army to use for the objective system 40k has. I haven't tried it with the objective changes however.

Sadly genestealer cult is not tanky enough, the aberrants are the best unit for this, but they only have a 5+ save and the 5+++ no pain.

We have to hit selecting our charges and shoots carefully and using 2-3 units for hold an objetive. And most of the time this won't be enough.

Maybe is a bit harder to play genestealer cult than other armies, sometimes a bit discouraging. But is a really funny army to play with.

Thanks for all the advise. I play a lot of Kroot so I'm familiar with pretty squishy armies. I really like the idea of a guerilla style glass cannon army, so I'm really looking forward to trying it out once I get all this build and painted.
