How to know which relic would be better?
Master of Possession word bearers

Most often this is used 1. Liber Hereticus gives an additional 6” range and cast 1 additional known power casting(3) if marked. This is good for staying back and have greater range. Which can combo the feel no pain sacrifice+2 to power roll) pact of flesh mutated invigoration or other chosen prayer.
2. Malefic Tome +1 to power rolls and know 1 additional power casting (2). Less of a range but gets +1 to power rolls and get to know an extra power so you could know 4 powers with marked power and switch accordingly to what you need but only casting 2 vs 3 powers with Liber. When would Malefic tome be the better choice.

I would think if the MoP was sitting with terminators mid, liber is best to do the above liber combo. But if MoP was running with Possessed maybe Malefic since sacrifice can’t be used

Well that depends if you're casting more offensively or more buffs.

It depends on the role you see the MoP performing. In general, the Liber is better because you can cast Pact of Flesh, Delightful Agonies and Mutated Invigorations all from 1 model. That's a huge defensive boost, but only if the rest of your army is built to need that.

Also, note that you can use the sacrificial dagger on any eligible unit in range - it doesn't have to be the one you're casting the power on. So you can stab a cultist, or Legionnaire, to power up the cast on a Possessed unit.

You cannot use the dagger on a daemonkin or cultists unit.
