I want to add some speed to my SCE army. Vanguard-Palladors or Evocators on Celestial Dracolines?
Both sets of models look awesome, with the Palladors just tipping it I feel, the raised javelins give a great dynamic feel. Anyone used both of these over a long period of time and able to tell me which comes out top in terms of performance?
Thanks

So they actually serve very different roles despite both being cavalry. The Palladors are are extremely fast with both good move speed and an innate teleport they can use any/every turn they want, whereas the Evocators on Dracolines just hit hard. Like, really dam hard. Comparing them against each other doesn't really work because they do different things; Evocators hit whatever is in front of them, Palladors choose their targets.

A better question is if you want a scalpel or a hammer, and what your army needs.

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

You've made up my mind, thank you. More of a hammer kind of guy. I'm going to paint the dracolines like Battlecat from He-Man

Great sounding theme, but if it’s a hammer that you seek then also consider Fulminators.

All you have to do is fire three rounds a minute, and stand

I've had great success with running Concussors as the hammer role.

Charge or no charge, they absolutely pound most things in combat and no one wants to be in combat with them.

I would agree - both look great on the tabletop! Why not take both?

Interesting to hear about the difference in the two though, thanks for sharing that insight.

Just picked up a pair of Fulminators / Dracothian Guard on Ebay actually... but might be a while before they get built up and hit the table.

While the 'why not both?' answer is easy to make, I know that personally if I ask a question like this it is because I cannot take both for reasons that are not up for consideration (otherwise they would have been included in the stated premise). But I can't speak for the OP.

Having just built six Dracolines yesterday, they have my vote just by looks alone.
