Valrak's claiming he has confirmation of the next Kill Team box contents - Dark Eldar (upgrade sprue team) vs Adeptus Arbites (new team). I'm expecting the board will be unchanged and will just feature a sprue or two of extra gubbins for Soulshackle book's missions.

Here's the vid that talks about all this

I hope this new Dark Eldar team contains a boatload of various Drukhari datasheets, as this team is most likely supposed to replace the Compendium Drukhari team in time.

As for my thoughts? I wasn't going to get another box from Season 2, was going to get an Arks of Omen terrain set instead, but since that one is now coming to preorder and has two KillTeam S2 boxes worth of terrain, it's going to bee too much terrain for me. I will just get a second box from Season 2, and I do love Arbites, so why not grab the Soulshackle one for Arbites & terrain.. Only prob will be selling the Drukhari, no-one in our group plays them..

well, the free PDF that accompanies the Ark of Omens boarding action rules mentions an Adeptus Arbites" Exaction Squad" by name as a troops option for agents of the imperium, so we can be reasonably certain they are coming, and we assume they are a kill team in the same way that Navy Breacher squads are.

To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

Indeed. First I was unsure if it's going to be an "Agents of the Imperium" Killteam, but now I'm fairly certain it will be a dual kit which makes any combination of "trooper" Arbites and Specialist Arbites. This has been the case with many of the Imperial KillTeam kits, enabling their further use in 40K proper as well as catering to KT21.

Drukhari will be the upgrade sprue team then.. There has been speculation that the upgrade sprue might come with beastmaster related stuff, since beasts are also mentioned in the AoO doc, and those do not have a model yet..

So now, the only remaining question will be, are we getting the same terrain as with all the other Season 2 boxes (+ an extra Soulshackle gubbins sprue)? Based on previous KT21 boxes, this seems most likely, as all season boxes besides the Season launch box has always came with recycled terrain

And your prediction is spot on. I find it really poor on GW's part, and agree with CanYouRollACrit, always an impartial and balanced judge of GW releases, that it's 'really disappointing' to see this terrain rolled out again. They could do so much with the Space Hulk environment. They've got brilliant designers and writers with the scope to create varied microcosms within a moon-sized ship, then the Finance team come along and make it painfully obvious that increasing The Margin is what GW are all about. Bah rant over

Yeh, it's a headscratcher tbh. If all the terrain is just going to be the same imperial space ship interior for the whole season, why develop this whole backstory of the Gallowdark, a place filled with stuff from many cultures, even having some athmospheres and wildlife sections within? They could have just gone with "Boarding actions in space", and nobody would get salty about the huge disconnect between the lore of the books and the actual contents of the game boxes.

I do have to give credit to the extra terrain kits however. I'll be collecting all four sets for sure. When combined, you will be able to create very cool close confines/zone mortalis type of missions with sentry turrets, cameras, programmable robots, remotely operatable doors, breachable walls etc. A brilliant toolkit for creating Narrative missions with!

Who knows, really. Some time ago these sort of additional terrain sets would have been Forgeworld products, but Forgeworld seems to be on life support or even hospice care outside of Heresy-related stuff right now. I guess it's possible that some terrain was slated for release but got jumbled up in the worldwide logistics clusterfrack for now, but in that case we had probably seen photos by now at least.
