I remember some supplementary lore and rules for plants that can be found in the Ash Wastes on Armageddon (all vicious of course), but now I cannot find any information on this. Anyone know more?

As far as I know, Armageddon had actual jungles with catachan like Imperial Guard in it, I wouldn't be surprised if they just used the same rules as some of the Catachan plants.
Fluff wise, one of the Last Chancer books spends some time in the jungle, so might want to check there

My hobby ADHD, mostly Necromunda, with a splash of regular 40k...

Are you really sure that you remember correctly and it was actually Armageddon and not Necromunda? I distinctly remember several articles about Necromundan Flora & Fauna, including Ash Waste stuff like Sand Clams, Brainleaf Vines and stuff like that, probably from the online publication period of Specialist Games Magazine. There were also articles about Deathworld Flora, including rules for some particularly vicious examples, in White Dwarf around the time Codex:Catachan for 3rd edition was released, but that was ofc. for Deathworlds, not for Armageddon.

Edit: The relevant articles would have been in Fanatic Online 53, 54 and 55, helpfully archived here: https://www.specialist-arms.com/fanatic/
The plants are in issue 55.

In the Guardsmen's Imperial primer Armageddon edition they had the revised guide that made it clear not to follow earlier instructions and avoid most of the plants...

I am pretty sure it was Armageddon, I remember there were also rules for foghting in the Ash wastes. There was a table to role on if a unit entered an ash pile to see what happened. It was for plants that lived in the wastes, not the jungles.

It could have been from Apocalypse 2nd edition, but I think it was earlier- perhaps as a pdf on the old GW website before all the old hobby stuff got nuked when switching to the new webstore.

This matches- all the plants with rules could hurt your units.

Found it! Was in the Apocalypse rulebook (second edition), specifically within the Armageddon warzone. Why you would want rules for individual plants clogging up an Apocalypse battle I do not know...

There is also stuff for ash wastes and the Season of Fire.

I am increasingly of the opinion that no one else read this warzone- even Lexicanum is very light on the lore additions from it

Which edition of the primer was this? I am finding it very hard to find information about the primers online after the first two. Is it one of the handbook editions?
