Most of this can be done with all legions
Let us see how to make them a great unit at range first.
They have M14”with 6” advance. So they can move anywhere.
T5 and 3 wounds gives them durability.
If you added a sorcerer or MoP with prescience you will hit on 2+.
Range is twin bolter S4 d1 x2 13” or more or x4 12” closer.
Damage is average or less so let us make it better.
Mark of Tzeentch ignore for failed save adds to the toughness
Icon of Tzeentch gives range attacks -1 AP. Huge now that AoC is gone
That will be example 3 bikes 6 or 12 ap -1 bolters double the bikes and that is 12-24 ap -1 bolters.
Every squad of bikes can have 2 marines hold a flamer which can also be used.
Giving you an additional 1d6+2 auto hit ap -1 attack 3-8 hits x2. 6-16 ap -1 with 12-24 ap -1 bolters.
Csm for 1 cp can use Daemonic shells and give the bikers ap -2
Word bearers for 2CP can use cursed despoiler and if criteria is met can get an extra hit per 4+ roll on bolters.
There are more strats like veterans etc but now that we know bikers range can be devastating.
Let us see where they are weakest. Melee. 4 attacks at ap -1. Is nothing to scoff about ws 3 S4. But with word bearers you can re roll melee hits. And the prescience gives to hit 2+ Giving a 86% hit veterans can add 1 to wounds that would be 4 attacks per bike at 2+ with ap -1.

So with 6 bikes you bolter shoot 12-24 at 3+ or 2 + prescience with ap -1 or ap -2 Daemonic shell and 18-24 auto hit ap -1 flames then charge perhaps another unit with 25 Ws 3+ or 2+ prescience continues s 4 ap -1 d1 melee
For extra defense if a DP with wings is close enough or a sorcerer with 18” cast skeins on the bikes gives them saves 3/4++

Well tactics says to post how to beat an army. I’m not talking about how to beat an army. It’s an example of how to make chaos bikes good and looking for people to point out other good ideas for chaos bikes.

Maybe if tactics said to post tactical ideas for Armies or troops

Ehhhh.....that might be what it says, but, I'm pretty sure that you'll get better advice from JNAPRODUCTIONS, Tneva82, and the rest of the "CSM gang", than looking for it from random dakkanouts. In the old days, I'd help as well, but unless you want to talk 30k? Not much help anymore. You do you, though.
