So someone came in and nuked Etc, the site where people from Dakka could go to discuss politics if they so chose. Consequently we are moving back to the old The Wasteland site, https://otzone.proboards.com/board/8/politics

Not gonna discuss any of what happened here, this is just an informative post since it’s not like people kept full contact lists of every member so those who don’t know why Etc is gone can find their way to the new (old) forums, posted on Dakka since it sprung from here and where the vast majority of its members hail from.

That's a surprise - I was only browsing (as a guest) a couple of threads on there yesterday or Friday...

The whole issue is such an incredibly dissappointing race to the bottom for so many people... the mind boggles.

Hopefully not locked with a message from a mod to go post in a locked thread this time.

Hopefully this isn't a permanent relocation as I'd prefer to have moderation against bad-faith posting that I don't think would be in the Wastelands.

If the server hosting etc is any good they should have backups that are a few days to a few weeks old at worst for situations exactly like this.

Yeah, I only posted it in the wrong location the first time because the other thread had already been locked so I couldn’t reply directly and wanted the answer located as close/adjacent to where the question was asked. Having it (or this) locked doesn’t bother me in the slightest because they’re not topics Really intended for discussion here.

I’m pretty sure You were banned for your flagrant use of the n word and British cigarettes, but hey, you do you.
