I've decided to make my 40k collections integrate better, and am instituting blue as a color that must be present in any scheme used in an imperial army. Even if I am painting an extant faction from the game, blue will feature in some way (even if that is eye lenses or plasma glow. Though blue may not feature in every model.)
To begin, we have my as yet-unnamed Mordian successor regiment.
WIP. New coat color with the center model being the original color scheme. I need your thoughts on wether i should keep the original scheme as an alternate coat color to provide varierty, or if i should can it and repaint him.
Secondly, I have an officer. Originally this was simply a kitbash to create a Navy Attache and try out a new, flat navy color I purchased. Sabre is WIP, as is basing. I used a bulldog head to tie him into the rest of the "mordian" force.
There will be plenty more updates. C+C is always welcome, and I enjoy discussion. Fluff is also planned.

"I have seen war in all its forms. I have seen feral world savages braining each other with stones, and I have monitored the death of a whole planet at the hands of a virus bomb. I have seen Space Marines drop to certain death, and win. I have seen Titans crush whole platoons underfoot. But there is no more stirring sight in war than the charge of massed cavalry." - Dravin Gratz, 14th Tharinga Regiment.

A great start mate. I personally prefer the dark blue, but am also a big fan of having multiple uniforms within a guard army either for different squads or different roles.
The minis are great too - are these the new Cadians with a head swap, or a totally different kit?

These are the Wargames Atlantic bulldogs.
Here's where we are on my dark angels successor, the knights of midnight. Hopefully some more Mordians are on the block this evening. We'll see.

Regimental profile: 355th Murat Rifles Regiment
Homeworld: Murat III
Segmentum: Pacificus
Tithe grade: Militaris Majoris
Combat speciality: Heavy Infantry
Description:
Dense population world with enough agriculture to support it's citizens.
Murat III is a a civilized military recruitment and training planet for the Astra Militarum. The world is densely forested with a species reminiscent of pine from Terra's distant past.
The imperial governance set up massive barracks cities where the population can live and drill before being shipped off to distant imperial warfronts.
The world's colors are purple and blue, so most uniforms stock to this color scheme.
Regiments of men and women are separate fighting units, however they are normally quartered together to keep population levels stable for an age rotational cycle.
The 355th are a heavy infantry regiment specializing in forward assault over rough terrain. They normally wear a heavy duty coat fitted with armorplas plates. Head protection isn't normal, and a Beret usual for the planets troops as a whole is instead worn.

Putting some time into the currently built remainder of the now titled "86th Blakburgh infantry regiment" a Mordian successor due to a regiment getting victoriously retired to populate a garrison world in Pacificus.
