They were never going to print 1000s of extra copies of a certain issue just because GW fans wanted cheap Flayed Ones. Doesn't help Hachette as their business is getting people to subscribe to the partwork. Doesn't help GW as it devalues their product. Sure, they'll adjust the total numbers of copies they print up and down a bit for the more popular issues so if people want to pick up the odd extra copy to bulk out a force they can.
We've got some good deals through that in the past, but the minute someone starts trying to do it on scale (like a games shop ordering 5000 copies) it's just not going to happen. I imagine there were no limits on order numbers from Hachette or the Distributor, but that's because they're used to newsagents ordering fewer than ten copies. They never dreamed anyone would order 5000 because that's completely unprecedented.

Well when GW sells a 5 model box at £32 for an infantry unit which has 20 in a "unit" and its a core infantry unit that basically is designed to be taken in large numbers
Yeah that's going to sell like crazy!

I am on the fence. I like the idea of it for sure, but at around or slightly over $60 usd a month, I think it is a little over priced.
I might go for it but not really sure.

Yeah, it seems like it's only really good if you actually want to start both those armies from scratch, or you and another person each want one and can split it or something. And if you plan on actually keeping up with the building and painting as they come out.
I haven't been into playing 40k for a few years now, and thought about this as a way to get back in with a dedicated project. But I think I'll pass.

I'm really not sure that 'pays up when facing imminent legal action' qualifies as even 'poor' customer service. Because there's no customer service in that picture. Poor customer service is when someone is rude to you, or gets really anal about return policy.
This was more a case of 'Give me back money which you took under false pretences or I'll have the court mandate its return. You have 24 hours'. Complying with that doesn't suddenly make it into customer service of any stripe.

Don't want to order one if I'd get one eventually.

This is pretty cool, I’d probably bite if the marine models were a slightly different selection and chapter.

I think including chapter-specific characters was a mistake.
I'll probably trade away Bobby G. and Calgar.

What day of the week does the magazine get released. Issue 15 is next on the Hchette website. I wonder if I wait on my PC on the day I can snag a couple of packs of Flayed Ones.

Good luck!
I've seen the Hachette website go from Coming Soon to Out of Stock in what felt like a page refresh.
Always go to the actual issue page. Sometimes the front page shows Coming Soon when the actual magazine can be ordered.

However when denied my excess of flayed flesh I decided to give into the gift of flesh and now I've got incoming Slaanesh mortals
So its not all bad - now if that Necron box can just last a few months in stock

Haven't the discount retaillers all sold out of the battleforces now (except for the Ork one )?
EDIT: scratch that, I just found a couple on a smaller store who hadn't sold out, then pulled the trigger. I don't have the money, but that's a problem for Tomorrow ULM

I wouldnt hope too much on restocks, Hachette are no longer taking subscriptions for the UK as i take it they cant get the stock to fulfil newer subscriptions, its been like that a while now and they are only on #14, Conquest subscriptions were still being taken for a long, long time past #14 iirc Automatically Appended Next Post: Tastyfish wrote: lare2 wrote: Orlanth wrote:What day of the week does the magazine get released. I suspect as the last collection was also Marine focused and they have run out of easy build kits or affordable regular kits that can be offered without duplicating lots of units from Conquest.

Sometimes when people get a small amount of models for a faction, they tend to then buy more for that faction. Like when a relative accidentally buys you Orks instead of Space Marines and you start an Ork army off the back of it. The idea is to hook people in, it's why there are the Premium sets that give you like 4 other armies on top of the 4 from the regular run. If you have Space Marines, SoB, Admech, Necrons, CSM, T'au, Orks and Tyranids, then that might get some of your friends into playing 40k as well. That's roughly how I did it, got Black Reach + some extra Marines and loaned out the Orks + extras to friends to try out the game before they bought their own armies.

Yes, "accidental" model purchases often lead to the starting of new armies.
I mean, I bought a big pile of second hand Orks on eBay back in 6th edition, and in there was also a Start Collecting Necrons box and now I also have a big Necron army...

Oh yeah it's atrocious. I've heard many horror stories, people having to wait literally a year to get a missed delivery actually sent through. They're terrible. Look at the Facebook groups you'll see 100s of complaints. But one thing I find notable is I've not seen a single case of someone saying "I never did get my stuff or my money back" - other companies will do that. Literally gamble that you won't take them to court or hide behind T& Cs if you do. Hachette don't. They're gak but if you pester them enough or wait long enough, you'll get your stuff. Or worst case a cheque for your money back. It's not good, but it makes me comfortable with dealing with them because I know they might take effort, but they'll never do a runner with my cash.
(And their screw-ups often work as much for customer benefit as detriment - in Conquest I had a magazine with a mis-printed page, sent a photo and asked for a replacement and they sent me an entire new pack, complete with mini. And for Mortal Realms, lots of us just got a extra delivery of 4 additional magazines and minis for no reason whatsoever. And Hachette were never "oh, you need to send us those back or pay for them" or anything. Just "oops, here's the magazines we should have sent, keep the others")

but they don't even go through the whole of the indomitus marines in this run, which I would have expected to have been the focus. instead we get. . . vanguard. And robby and calgar. . . which is just odd.
