Actual skull shoulder pad after someone's been to see the doc about an entirely non-shoulder related issue.

I want to be psyched for these new Orc-ish hybrids, but I'm just not feeling it. Nothing in these reveals is making me go "Whoa! I gotta see the rest of that model!"

I'm like to be pleasantly surprised during the upcoming boxed set reveal, but I'm not holding my breath.

I do like the glimpses of the aesthetic. But I'm worried that the models are going to be busy and overly... odd.

I wonder if the "new" greenskins are taking some style cues from the older metals.

If you look at the all metal range from pre 4th ed, the Orcs are quite gangly but with some decent if rough armour, weapons and gear.

It definitely is.

The Lead Belcher organ gun and Man Mangler mangonel strike me as style guides for some of this. (Its the carved faces, mostly). Its the biggest aspect driving my interest, to be honest. If it doesn't pan out the way the pieces are assembling in my head, I'm going to be really disappointed.

I’m feeling the same atm unfortunately. I really want to be excited haha, but for whatever reason this build up has me more concerned I’m not at all gonna be interested.

There was a swamp in a video. There was no 'hype.'
A few fans filled in a blank with something they wanted to happen.

Honestly, even if they were fimir, a few bits and pieces of models shown over a week and a half aren't going to amount to 'hype' for anything.

My biggest concern is that if every metal face is different for each model, it's going to make repeated models stand out. Shields matching isn't a bad thing, if it's intentional (ie, stormcast shields), but it may be a bit of an issue with these guys

I dunno- I think the novelty and weird combination of nostalgia for some, and new-ness for many would have won a lot of people over. I really can't help but think that's the reason people on this forum (I don't know about others" are a little tepid about the release, because now we're all left with ideas of what could have been.

These have got to be the most boring rumor engine pic series.

Just showing random weapons for an new race does basically nothing for me.

I get it, they have faces on stuff. Is there nothing else besides weapons and weird totem faces being shown over and over?

I'm not surprised that you (or others for that matter) would find this rumor engine series boring. GW simply doesn't have anything to show.

Since these pictures are leading up to the big reveal of the faction on Saturday they can't show anything meaningful because it would take away the surprise they clearly want out of this.

Without a notable point of reference, which we don't have what with this being a new thing people aren't at all familiar with, the odd bits that would give hints at what we might expect from a known faction achieve precious little this time around.

If you like what you're seeing in isolation, you can get something out of the picture series. If not, it's just random, meaningless bits. This approach to revealing the new faction is basically designed to be divisive.

If nothing else I'm thinking the shields might be pretty great conversion bitz, but It'll depend on how 'Orky' they end up looking.

My one hope is that the shields will resemble the Ogre shoulder pad from the cursed city box.

One of the first "new edition" articles they had on WHC said "we guarantee you won’t be expecting exactly who’s peering from the swamps and waiting for their moment to strike"

So, who do we not expect?
Well, nobody expects the SPANISH INQUISITION!

Perhaps the rumour about hob-gobliniods are a great red herring to get out guesses out of focus.
Still, I think it sounds like they have done a remake of something we ought to know about.

The armour style kinda reminds me of Kastelan robots? But it clearly cannot be anything AdMech, and the shoe makes me doubt anything 40k in general.
