Now, Off Topic:

I know Cannae gets a lot of attention. The double envelopment had been the "Holy Grail" tactically ever since to military commanders. However, it was a brilliant tactical battle it ultimately had almost no strategic impact. Therefore, I think the "hype" about Cannae is overrated!

All of that said, it is NOT an easy battle to "recreate" on the table as everyone knows how and why it turned out the way it did. It is almost impossible to recreate faithfully. I am impressed when anyone tries to.

It was a beautiful looking game as was Simon Miller's Ipsus game.
