Brilliant, these will work very nicely for my Kings of War armies. Could possibly work for LotR too.

I'm a huge fan of having a model work across multiple armies, even more important than the cost savings is not having to paint it multiple times.

I have to be realistic with myself, if the catapult/mangonel comes with skull ammunition like in the photo, I’ll find room in my gaming budget somewhere.

It wasn't in the plan - that was just added with the crew. But I could see if we can fit some on the sprue...

More variety of shot means more folk will think it fits their armies, so if there's space go to town

rocks, oil barrels, dead animals/prisoners, skulls, magical swirly stuff

Agreed and add Greek fire to your list. Some decorative bones or talismans or heraldry to customize the siege machines would be cool (probably ahistorical but rule of cool and all that).

Will there be a retailer pledge?

I'm going to have to sit this one out most likely so hopefully these are successful enough for retail and that you will be a to do further siege engine/war machines.

Well that is disappointing. I wanted to carry them in the shop, but 25% is not enough margin. I'm very sorry to hear that.

Can't really say I need these, but glad to see them the works. I love how brutal and realistic the Ballista looks.

Yeah, I'm an early bird. I hope they move ahead with these, though. They look great as just standard human-scale artillery. It's a niche that is sorely lacking.

If a relaunch is considered, could I suggest enlarging the wheels of both units, and beefing up the launching arm of the Mangonel significantly?

I know you must be limited by sprue space, but these two small / easy changes would make a big difference, in my opinion.

If there was still room to adjust you could consider making the base beams of the Mangonel less straight (perhaps arched slightly, or some other adjustment to add an interesting element to it).

For myself, the Ballista would look fantastic with just the wheel size increase (or even just removing the wheels, if it could be a permanent fixture, instead). But the Mangonel needs some work (beefing up / adding interesting elements or detail) to look at home next to the mostly heroic-style miniatures.

I mean this as constructive feedback and hope the relaunch, if planned, is highly successful!

Great models I'd love to see in plastic. The funding goal might have been a challenge.

Yeah, this was basically testing the waters, as we suspected that the funding goal was going to be too high for Kickstarter right now. The project was simply not gaining traction, and it seemed better to cancel now then waste everyone's time trying to keep it going when it clearly wasn't going to happen. We'll be exploring other avenues to get them to retail instead.

One other suggestion, you only had one color picture on the campaign page, and it was small and didn't show off the pieces as well as it could have. The two pictures at the top of this thread were buried in update #3. I felt those should have been featured on the campaign page from the start.

Whether it's a relaunch or a retail release, I wish the project well, and look forward to any updates.

That was a deliberate decision as the models aren't finished yet - so focusing on them as designs rather than as finished things seemed better for keeping expectations on track. In an ideal world we would have had plastic test shots painted by some proper painters... but once things are that far along, there's far less point in using Kickstarter anyway.

In this particular situation, a successful Kickstarter would have sped things along a bit, but we should be able to still proceed with these anyway, and I'll continue to share updates as we get the models finished off.

That's great to hear. These definitely fill a void in the market.

Maybe replacing one of them with the battering ram would make a difference? Adding some ladders or other siege gear?

That is a great idea.

A siege tower, a roman tortise, a magonel, etc.

Sapper tunnel opening shields. There is a tonne of room here for potential expansion.

Walls to siege against.

It depends on who you want to partner with for the plastics manufacture and if you are targeting mass sales (I.E. Wanting retailers involved) or if you simply want to constrain sales to your own channel.
