Hi Folks,

Well after recently retiring, I figured now would be as good a time as any to dig into Warhammer 40K after years of being too tied up in work to give the game any real justice.
So which faction would be best for a beginner. Keep in mind that I agree with what I've been reading so far across the interent in that I should build and paint the faction I think looks the coolest, and the lore which grabs me.
So far I'm looking at Aeldari. Really cool looking armor, really cool looking ships and a really cool lore.

The Leagues of Votann are also very cool.

Space marines used to be the "easy" army for starting out as they were very durable and could bounce back from mistakes/errors, but I haven't played in long time to know if that's true anymore.

Aeldari used to be the army you had to be very tactical to use properly as their units were very specialized and you had to select the right units for the right job. Again, I don't know if this is the case anymore.

As an aside, I'd be interested to hear if Votann are beginner friendly, as with the free datasheets for 10th, I'd like to give them a test run to see how they play.
