Graffiti Update: I've gotten some acrylic brush tip markers from Amazon I used for some graffiti on this building.

Included some recognition of a couple of my favorite punk bands.

I think my favorite piece is one I call Wagner's Revenge. He finally caught up with the guy who has been slandering him across conflict zones for years.

And a 'shout out' to Enemy Spotted Studios (the building was part of their KS for In Country.)

Been weathering an MDF building from the Enemy Spotted Studio 'In Country' kick starter. Thought I would show how I'm doing rust. Very quick and easy technique I think looks pretty good on the table.

I started by painting the metal parts black, then a heavy dry brush of a dark gun metal, followed by a lighter dry brush of a silver:

Next, I squirted out a rust color, an orange and a yellow (all cheap craft paints).

I then used an old stiff bristle brush to stipple on the rust color relatively heavily in the areas I want rust.

Followed by a lighter stippling of the orange (I do not wash brush between rust colors).

Finally a lighter stippling of the yellow.

All in all, just a couple minutes of effort and I think it looks good.

I also did some rust on the roof, which I started as it it was painted metal (kind of a green/blue).

Steps almost the same, but no metallic paints. Instead a stippling of a black to start:

Then the rust:

Then orange:

then the yellow:

Thanks, I seem to gravitate towards quick and easy methods. This one really does produce good results, especially for a 'looks good on the table' standard.
