Hi,
the new updates to factions and points are up.
I read the goonhammer article and the comments below seem to be kind of salty. Since I did just re-start playing AoS, I would like to hear your oppinion.

People are always salty. Changes mostly seemed fine. Soulblight got a hammering which they needed and the rest of the points seemed fair enough.

Stormcast need more than just point drops, but they'll be getting a new book when the edition drops next summer so they'll have to hang on for a while more.

The screaming bell managing to move on its own is way overdue.

Is there already a new edition round the corner for next summer?
Some people seem to think that Vampires got not hit enough.

I'm pretty happy with the changes. As always scratching my head on a few of the points changes but overall looks like an improvement to balance, which the game can always use more of.

I have my fingers crossed they'll stay with 3rd for a while longer, but I'm hardly holding my breath :/

Road to Renown! It's like classic Path to Glory, but repaired, remastered, expanded! https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/778170.page

I chose an avatar I feel best represents the quality of my post history.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Everything points toward 4th. Tomes soon done, 3 year filled, end-edition campaing books, new rules breaking game(seen the new ko rules? Lol).

Gw follows the edition pattern steady as usual.

At least skavens looks to get hefty update.

I'm not *expecting* anything other than 4th edition next year, to be sure.

Has there been any rumours as to what might be the next featured faction? Even before last year there was rumours of Tyranids for 10th edition...

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Do you mean completely new factions? I think there are still factions which have no 3rd edition book.

Well, just that each edition has the Stormcasts facing off against some other faction that's due new models. For example, Khorne warriors, Nightshaunts and Kruleboyz have been the factions so far.

Skaven is getting constant whispers on being the box

Faction. Flesh eaters court is last one.

Skaven sounds like a good candidate being Chaos, after Death and Destruction, and are in need of new sculpts.

Yeah it went Chaos, Death, Destruction so rotating back to a Chaos antagonist makes sense. Lord knows the Skaven have enough schemes going XD

That seems especially likely since Skaven are one of the few IPs from the old world that are original from GW.

I suppose Skaven would also be the fantasy counterpart to Tyranids, being that they tend to swarm and there is one or two "Skav-zillas" in the range.

They are a bit similar. I don't think they intended a correlation between both releases.

Yea. Kruleboyz are hardly necrons

It's more of what miniaturb design studio works on.

Ah! But that might have been Necrons taking a leaf out of Nighthaunts!

Oh wait, I think they're kinda Bonereapers...tomb Kings?

...nevermind.

-Huge numbers of expendable troops
-Unsustainable, polluting industrialization
-Unified only in the sense that they are the same species and worship the same god
-More or less ubiquitous across the setting
-Ruled by a council of 12 high Lords plus Guilliman--a council of 13

It's the Imperium of Man that is Skaven in 40k

Thats...a pretty fair comparison!

So my assumption was that the apparent Wall of Zombies - which is haunting the meta - could also be countered by the mass shooting of CoS. Zombies cannot use their Drag down Mortal wounds against shooting.
Also the boar rider's ability of the Ironjawz to crash through screens might counter the mass shooting lists of CoS.

Maybe I am wrong. Any thoughts on this?

I think the wall of zombies got countered by the hefty point increase they just got.
