Gamefound campaign just opened for the reprint and new expansion for the League of Dungeoneers dungeoncrawler boardgame which recently finished delivery. Project funded almost immediately and is now into stretch goals. Early bird pledges for the first 48 hours have a small discount, still about a day to get those at this time.

League of Dungeoneers Gameound campaign

Spoiler:

I'm not involved in the campaign or the game, just a massive fan of what I received from the original run on Kickstarter and looking forward to the expansion and upgrade pack. The game is a RPG-Lite style dungeoncrawler with random proceduraly-generated maps. Game can be run either Co-op or solo, includes a boatload of cards and dungeon tiles and a nice hardcover rulebook. Reprint includes the cardboard standees that were a paid addon the first time around (or acrylic if you get the super premium edition)

The entire game was written, designed and produced by Michael Lundstadt and it's a pretty incredible thing, but as a one-man designer the book had some typos and unclear rules that required errata. He also redesigned how Alchemy works and released FAQs and files on BGG. The reprint brings those updates into the base printed rulebook, addresses some issues with production, and will redesign many of the cards with additional artwork as monster, weapon, and spell statcards were previously just text.

Just be aware that it's quite a space hog both on the shelf and on the table, it's way too complex for some people's taste, and even with the new art it isn't a particularly pretty game. It's also a very generic fantasy world, feels a lot like somebody took 1995 Warhammer Quest and tried to redesign it using 3rd ed D&D open gaming license. Your initial gut reaction to that sentance will probably indicate if you'll enjoy this game or not, I very much do.

Standard RPG style leveling, mostly. Monsters are randomly generated when you open new rooms in a dungeon or when you come across Wanderign Monster tokens, and each is worth a certain amount of XP when killed. XP is totaled and shared by the entire party so everyone gets credit when a monster is killed, no kill-stealing or dealing with mixed levels in the party. Once the party gets a certain amount of XP, you gain a level.

Regardless of class, everyone gets +1D2 HP and some levels give you +1 Luck or +1 Energy (MP), then each character gets 15 points to spend upgrading skills and stats. Cost depends on class, a Wizard needs to spend 5 points to increase Strength by 1%, but only needs to spend 2 points to increase Wisdom, etc. Stats/skills are a simple % system, roll a D100 and roll equal or under your stat, +/- and modifiers.

Yes, the original KS was to turn it from a digital-only game into a physical-only game, and the rules were re-written with that in mind. The digital version was taken down right before the kickstarter launched so people didn't buy it by mistake.

There are no PDFs included with the new game. You can buy the rulebook and Bestiary PDFs as a paid addon, but they are not designed to be PnP friendly anymore.
