7TV: The 80s Genre Guide

For their 7TV miniatures game which lets you game various TV and Movies. Currently much of what is available is 60s and 70s, thus James Bond, Planet of the Apes, Blakes 7, The Prisoner, but there's some obvious 80s inspiration as I bought a not-Marty McFly, not-Doc Brown, and not- Mr T (the full not-A Team is available). And there's a not-Mad Max and some familiar baddies from the 80s Mad Max movies. There's also "Paranormal Exterminators", the original team and the ones fro the remake, and a not-Ecto One. So this KS is for a dedicated guide and cards for the 80's feel.

While I do not play 7TV, I have backed one of Mr. Karl Perrotton's Colony 87 kickstarters, and he delivered promptly, even though it was just after the COVID lockdowns started and things were a mess. So he's reliable.

A not-Axel Foley is part of the Hero Pledge level, and a not-T-800 part of the Villains' Pledge. Of course there is a Director Pledge which gets you all sixteen new heroes and villains.

I have some very nice figs from these guys

Some nice cameos here:

I AM A MARINE PLAYER

"Unimaginably ancient xenos artefact somewhere on the planet, hive fleet poised above our heads, hidden 'stealer broods making an early start....and now a bloody Chaos cult crawling out of the woodwork just in case we were bored. Welcome to my world, Ciaphas."
Inquisitor Amberley Vail, Ordo Xenos

"I will admit that some Primachs like Russ or Horus could have a chance against an unarmed 12 year old novice but, a full Battle Sister??!! One to one? In close combat? Perhaps three Primarchs fighting together... but just one Primarch?" da001

Bought into their previous 7TV Kickstarter and this one. Last time the order was dispatched promptly and the models are nice with minimal flash and slottabases.

I've purchased their not-The Young Ones and Father Ted models in the past.

Following childhood psychological scarring, I still haven't been brave enough to buy the Noseybonk model. I fully understand that the Noseybonk reference likely only applies to UK gamers in the late 40s - early 50s age range.

Wait, Crooked Dice made a Not-Mr.Nosybonk?

Wow, that is truly terrifying!

I have a handful of Crooked Dice models and I'm a fan of their work, even if some of the innately British references go over my head. As an 80's kid, I'm liking a lot of what I see for this kickstarter. I'm just not in the right place financially for this.

(also, is that Baroness between Hans Gruber and Chucky?)

Thanks for initiating my 'fight or flight' response.

Did I mention psychological scarring?

Re: Mr. Noseybonk. THAT is something the BBC considered suitable for a children's show?! I'm seeing it for the first time as an adult, and I've suffered SAN loss.

Like KidCthulhu, I fail to understand many of the innately British references. Similarly, this is a trip down nostalgia lane, and this KS is a strong temptation.

80's means Catherine Mary Stewart and Adrienne Barbeau.

AND

Molly Ringwald and the rest of the Bratpack.

Without them, it's like Sinatra and the Rat Pack without a drink in your hand.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.
