Heya, I finally made an account after coming to this site for a lot of info on getting into Warhammer 40K, and I’m not really sure where to ask different stuff? I’m mainly looking for beginner’s advice, like figuring out my first army, KT vs 40K to start with (and how simple it would be to go from the former to the latter), and how to get into the hobby (affordably).

(I’ve found the painting and local games sections, but I’m unsure of where the other mentioned topics belong.)
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Dakka Dakka,

The Forum is a good place to start, you will see the topics listed by subject.

As far as KT -vs- 40k, there is always room to scale up, and there is always a chance to take a break from a large project to work on a smaller force. Many will say do what you will enjoy more, and that is really the best advice. -- Personally, I find working on smaller force is great motivation, as it is a smaller time commitment.

Additionally, sometimes it is easier to build, paint, base, store, and transport a smaller force (KT) which can be scaled up into a larger army over time.

Again, welcome to Dakka Dakka!
