What do you all think of the new GW website? I’m really disappointed with what they’ve done with the section on paints. There used to be this really handy “how to paint with” section for every colour. You could pick a paint and then find out how to combine it with other paints to get particular effects. Now that’s gone. A real loss. Does anybody know if anybody has made a similar guide online anywhere - which base, shade and layer paints to combine to get particular effects? I’m also wondering about contrast paints. Since they clearly aren’t one coat solutions I’m looking for some recommendations for which paints to use to add highlights to them. For instance - Iyanden yellow. What can I use on top of that?

There's a mobile app you can download called citadel colours that does just that, handy, to be fair.

40k: Necrons/Imperial Guard/ Space marines
Bolt Action: Germany/ USA
Project Z.

"The Dakka Dive Bar is the only place you'll hear what's really going on in the underhive. Sure you might not find a good amasec but they grill a mean groxburger. Just watch for ratlings being thrown through windows and you'll be alright." Ciaphas Cain, probably.

I've got the app and it's great but it doesn't do that. You can look up which colour you want to paint - say "Bright yellow", "Grey Blue" and it'll give you colour combinations for getting that effect. And it's great. But it doesn't work the other way round - look up a paint and see how you can use that particular paint in different combinations

If I want to know what GW thinks I can do with, say for instance, "The Fang" - I used to be able to look on the website and see "Paint with the Fang" and get some different ideas. But now they've taken that feature down and I can't. I've found "The Fang" in the app under "Grey blue" but if I want to see if I can do anything else with it I now have to go through all the possible colours to try to find it.

Yes, of course I can use my own trial and error approach but it'd be great to have the old feature back on the website or added to the app.
