Poll going up early this month, as I’ll be AFK for the last part of December. And you might be able to convince Santa to add something to paint for the topic to the sleigh if you get your order in early enough. Poll will run for 2 days.

--

From the Shadows -- A knife in the dark, camouflaged sniper, or any blow that your opponent will never see coming. Subtlety and deception should be the order of the day. Or go metaphysical; things live in the shadows... Frightening things. In the places between the lights is another world full of horrors and danger. Sometimes all of the above, as the warped cultist slinks out of the shadows to slip a knife in with the 3rd hand he shouldn’t naturally have.

Stay Frosty -- Winter is here. Do you want to paint a snowman? Break out the white and get your winter on with a seasonal theme. Or switch up with a more philosophical side, and go with someone cool under pressure, or cold and aloof.

Rip and Tear -- Will it blend? Some warriors leave a path of mangled bodies in their wake; torn shreds of shattered foes. Your entry should be such a fighter. The kind of combatant that removes limbs and splatters the walls with gore. Lightning claws, chainswords, serrated knives, or rock grinders. Any sort of weapon or tool that turns people into a fine red mist.

Out With the Old, In With the New -- Try new techniques, or break out whatever was bought/received as holiday gifts. Alternatively, dig deep in the pile of shame or the back of the painting station and tackle something that has been waiting for while. This can be more of a technical challenge, where the focus is on how you paint (trying something new) a/o meta (painting something actually new/old) or go more literal and paint a raw recruit a/o seasoned veteran. As always take inspiration from the topic and express it in you entry.

As luck would have it, I've got something in my 'when I get around to it' box that'd be just perfect for Out With the Old, In With the New.

I'm a bit too immersed in this month's theme to really think about next month already. I went with From the Shadows because I know I have a few models that fit the theme. But I'm sure I can find something for the others as well.

I've got something good for Rip and Tear that would also work for Out with the Old, in with the New.

Struggling about in Asmos territory.

I tried to stay frosty but won't mind shadows either to make something a bit more horror-snowy. xD

I voted for Out With The Old, In With the New, but as always I can almost certainly find something for any of these themes.

Voted for Out With The Old, In With The New as it'll be a good time to get started on the new 40k starter set, Leviathan. Lots of models to choose from in there.

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.

If my math is right that should be 48 hours of polling. “From the Shadows” will be the topic for Jan.

Missed the poll, but would have voted for "From the shadows" anyway! The model I planned for December's open round but did not get in time fits that perfectly.
