So, it appears my next matchup will potentially be next Saturday as my Ork Green Tide list will be going up against a potential Tyranid player. I know the nids are the new hotness for the 10th edition with their Leviathan boxsets and new models, and the Orks are...well we need to wait a bit more.

Any good advice when facing Tyranids? I know they're a melee horde army but what could help me out in this battle and what should I look out for?

You have been lied to. Tyranids always suffer from wrong PR. Although they can be build several ways they have since 8th edition been more a shooting army.

They have some descent melee threats and shooting. But in general they do not like beeing clobbered by more point efficient Orks. Bevare of their shadow in the warp trick. Especially if they have the neurotyrant. Tyranids fight on points. Not on tabeling.
