Hey

I cant recall the rules from the main rule book in 3rd edition for the vehicle battle honours table on page 163

I think veterans used to use them or something along those lines

Did you purchase them or roll for them....I cant remember clearly

Does anyone recall them or have them?

Thanks

I got rid of my third ed BRB in move quite a few years back, but typically you have to earn XP to qualify for a battle honour, and once you've earned, you can roll on a table, but GW also usually offers players the option to pick rather than roll.

I can tell you what the 6 options are from the 4th ed book, but not the 3rd.

Personally, I think that all previous progression systems are empty compared to what is offered by Crusade, but I guess if you're playing an older edition, the rules compatibility is tighter, even if the options are fewer... Which they are, and by a long shot.

You get one vehicle table in 4th, and it has to apply to every army and every campaign setting... so you'll see the same six BHs dozens and dozens of times.

In Crusade, you get a generic vehicle table in the BRB, but some Codices include their own vehicle tables which provide more faction appropriate options, and some of the campaign books include vehicle tables to provide BH options that are more thematic to a given theatre of war.

Caveat: 9th ed Crusade functioned as described above. 10th edition Crusade seems similar enough to 9th, but I don't actually have any of the 10th ed Codices, and while I read the Goonhammer Crusade reviews for all four dexes, it was a while ago, and I don't remember whether any of them included alternate BH tables.

For every 1000 points of experience, you make a roll on the Battle Honour table for the unit. If you roll for one you already have, you can instead chose one from the table.

D6 - Effect
1 - Terrifying: Tanks do tank shocks with a -1 penalty to Leadership. Other vehicles get the ability to tank shock in the first place.
2 - Fast: The unit gains "Fast". Ordnance weapons still need to stand still to be used. Fast vehicles re-roll this result.
3 - Reinforced armour: Rolls on the glancing hit table are reduced by 1, to a minimum of 1.
4 - Tank Hunters: Add +1 to all armour penetration rolls.
5 - Hardened Crew: Treat all "Crew stunned" results as "Crew shaken".
6 - Skilled Gunnery: Select one gun each turn to re-roll any missed hits with it. No effect on twin-linked weapons.

Custom40k Homebrew - Alternate activation, huge customisation, support for all models from 3rd to 10th edition

Designer's Note: Hardened Veterans can be represented by any Imperial Guard models, but we've really included them to allow players to practise their skills at making a really unique and individual unit. Because of this we won't be making models to represent many of the options allowed to a Veteran squad - it's up to you to convert the models. (Imperial Guard, 3rd Edition)
