"We're gonna draw a little bit of everybody's blood... 'cause we're gonna find out who's the thing..."

Wow! It's been a while since I have been in these forums. I had jumped over to social media like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc. but with how depressing social media sites are now, I'd figured I'd return back to the eternal gloriousness that is this forum. So to start off 2024 on a positive note I'm setting up this hobby blog to motivate me in to painting more, getting back in to the hobby properly and even get in some actual games again. In this blog, expect to see: Lots of Nurgle stuff (best faction), some crazy projects, 3d modelling/printing, mad science shenanigans.

Here's some previous work I have done, as little taste of things to come...

On my painting desk at the moment, I have Phulgoths Shudderhood and some Goblins that I am currently working on for Age of Sigmar. Stay tuned, there will be pics soon!

So here's what I have been doing lately. I obtained a Phulgoth's Shudderhood box set and have been assembling and painting them. They were pretty fun to assemble and the Nurgle Lord on the steed looks cool as feth. So far I have just been priming them and getting the basecoats on. Once basecoating is done then I can do the drybrushing, washing and detailing them. Normally I like to do heavy conversions on my miniatures to make them more unique to my army, but these minis just look so cool that I'm just painting them as is. Maybe I'll buy some more to chop up and convert at some point, got a few rough ideas for conversions that I think would be pretty interesting.

The updates on this blog will probably start off a bit slow as I started University September last year so have some upcoming deadlines for assignments, but once those are out of the way, then I can get on with some serious hobby time. One of my University projects actually is making a 3D model in autodesk maya. I opted to make a Space Marine for my model. It's still WIP and not perfect but considering that I went from knowing nothing about 3D modelling in September, to making this, is pretty damn impressive if I do say so myself.

Here's something I'm particularly happy with... my Killteam squad. Had an absolute blast painting these guys up.

I still need to photograph all the Nurglings, bugs and other dudes that came with the set, I'll do that later.

Very cool stuff. I love that dude on the toad. Nice paintjobs too. Looking forward to seeing more.

that's an awesome looking Kill Team, mate. I've always loved that scale compared to a whole army where you can give each of Your Dudes a little more love and it shows on these guys.

I also love the eyeballs added to the GOO's bellymouth...a great creepy awful disturbing lovely touch.

Great job on the 3D modelling too - it looks awesome! Wouldn't have guessed it was an early experiment.

Looking forward to more!

Oh wow, some replies, awesome! Been busy with getting my Uni assignments out of the way at the moment so sorry it has taken me a little while to respond. The Plague Toad is one of my favourites, and not bad for a filament print, although I am looking to upgrade to a resin 3D printer at some point.

Haven't played killteam yet but love the idea of smaller scale games with minis that have more personality, of course when I saw that GW were re-stocking the Nurgle killteam set, I just had to buy it! I'll try to get some more pictures taken of the rest of the set once I go home next week after all my University assessments are done and dusted. The GUO is my pride and joy, the centrepiece of my army (until I buy Mortarion or a Chaos Knight). I couldn't resist doing some sculpting work to make him look more unique.

Got my Space Marine 3D model submitted for assessment. Didn't quite know how to do the hands but it was quite ambitious for a beginner, so hopefully I will get a decent grade. Here's a picture from the render.
