so i lost my mr cement SP and need to replace it so i figured id give tamiya a shot.
can any of you tell me the difference between these?

Tamiya 87038 Extra Thin Cement 40 ml and 87182 Quick Setting Plastic Cement

Tamiya extra thin cement is much less adhesive than Mr Cement SP, so you will need to use more glue and the bond wont be as strong. Also makes a bit more mess than SP

Back when I still used Tamiya glues, I basically had to use two, the regular cement and extra thin. I'd use the regular for larger joins, and extra thin cement for the smaller bits. With SP cement, I can just use it for EVERYTHING

On the upside, Tamiya extra thin doesn't smell as funky as the SP

Yeah it's definitely different. A bit less aggressive as mentioned above, so you need more of it. It's also noticeably a bit thicker I think.

They are pretty similar, but I much prefer the Mr hobby stuff

Trying to save some shipping time.
