Hello,

Followed a link on the trail of WSGS and Leviathan… apologies if off topic for sub forum.

A few questions. What happened to WSGS?

Also correct me if I am wrong but did they hold events mid to late 90s in Blacktown in the PCYC and also the Masonic Hall?

I have a vague memory of an event in the PCYC, Eureka Miniatures, Star Grunt being played…

Also does anybody have a contact for Adrian? He used to field White Scars, then Orks and Chaos, circa Rogue Trader. He was living somewhere in lower Blue Mountains area from memory. PM for further details.

Newcastle, OZ

I remember all of those.

Yes, they did used to hold events in the Blacktown Masonic hall near the bowling alley (I don't recall the PCYC ones) - I used to be a member of WSGS and would go pretty regularly.

Eureka Miniatures did attend a few Leviathans - there were a few of us who played SGII or Full Thrust. I recall a large demo game of FT at one Leviathan.

They moved out of the Masonic hall when a games store opened up in the Blacktown shopping area - and operated out of their "spare room" (the game store were using an old Tyre store, and the workshop space became WSGS' "games room" - it was huge. Easily room to hold a couple of hundred players. I'm not sure why they moved out of there.

They ended up moving to Quakers Hill High School in the early 2000s - a few of the regular committee guys were teachers there - and they held a few Leviathans there, too. I attended one in 2014 or so?

As for the rest, I'll ask around. I moved up to Newcastle, myself - but I occasionally see Steve, Trevor and a few of the other guys.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

The name of that store was Grey Matter Games. It was post The Tin Soldier relocation to Penrith. I think there was an issue with the expense of the rent for such a large premises. I also recall that they were subject to a massive burglary. I did visit once and saw the area you are referring to but didn’t know, or maybe remember, that WSGS was operating out of there. I think that Grey Matter Games also operated a store quite some distance from the centre, opposite Sportsman Hotel. I can’t remember if this was before are after that store. This would have been around 2000-2001?
