so with the new indirect fire rules stating a natural 1 to 3 always fails to hit, how would the scout sentinel daring recon ability play?

Stating that an unmodified 1-3 automatically fails isn't a penalty to the Hit Roll. If a BS 3+ weapon fires Indirectly using the Scout Sentinel ability, it will get the re-rolls but only hit on an unmodified 4+.

This means that Heavy Weapons on units that Remained stationary will have a Net +1 Hit Modifier (ignoring the negative for Shooting Indirect), but only those with a BS 5+ (or 6+) will actually benefit from it since a unmodified Hit Roll of 1-3 will still miss even for those attacks with at 4+ or better BS.

well thats the problem with the new rules and daring recon. guard artillery have a base 4+ BS and heavy keyword. not to mention there is no longer any point in issuing orders to artillery and it would just be a waste of an order.
