I recently bought a couple of Vallejo Engine Weathering Effects and would like to give them ball bearings for proper mixing when shaking them. My father was kind enough to give four steel balls from an old motorbike he took apart and I would like to test if they rust or not These balls are very old by now (decades, probably, it was a very old bike) and they look fine, but better safe than sorry.
Do you have any suggestions about how to properly test this?

You can probably leave out the hydrogen peroxide if you leave it for a bit longer.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I take it if the balls don't rust then they're good, right?
