With the release of the new battlegroup I was looking over the rules
Can someone explain why only 6 Thallaxes can go in a Triaros transport?
Shouldn't you be able to fit a max unit of 9 in?

Presumably for game balance. They must have decided that it’s too good to be able transport a full unit. Just like large Terminator units are forced to buy a Spartan instead of a basic Land Raider if they want a transport.

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

You know they’re Bulky (3) due to the jet pack, right? You can technically fit seven but nine is right out.

Yeah, the Incunabulan Jetpack wargear they have makes you Bulky (2) unless you already have that in which case you become Bulky (3) instead.
N.B. this is not a change from the previous edition either; they’ve always taken up three slots even if the terminology was slightly different.

TBF it wouldn't break thallax in the slightest, seeing as they are anyways preferedly outside a triarios on a table with lots of terrain and or deepstrikeing. Frankly the triarios is just not good for them as a transport.

The 'bulky', 'very bulky' and 'extremely bulky' are 2, 3, and 5 model count values respectively.
The 'bulky' rule was introduced in 7th edition and the original edition of Horus Heresy in that manner.
The bulky rule did not exist in 6th edition or earlier where jetpack and jump pack troops were not allowed to embark in a vehicle at all.
I know this because my Thallax were given special exception to the rule when Book 1: Betrayal came out using 6th ed and i was carting my cyborg lefties around in customised Land Raiders.
