Aaaaaaa it's happening!

The wizard towers can't be far behind now!

Walls&Fences only went OOP like 2-3 years ago tho, didn't they? They were well hidden on the website but shops that carry Direct Only items had them. Pretty sure I got a set after Brexit.

Now, place your bets how much these will cost. The Manor was what, 60€ or 80€ at the time of its death? I know I saw them for 40€ from the deep, deep discounters on eBay that were the fashion at the time. Probably gonna be 150€ now.

That's also good.

I always liked the manor but never got around to buying one. Maybe this time.

Yeah, I bought some fairly recently as well. Only found it because it came up randomly in a search for something completely unrelated to it.

Also, for myself, this is the most exciting news that the re-release of The Old World has had.

What exactly is the excitment for the hills and fences? The fences you'll be able to find better and cheaper equivalents anywhere else and the hills you could do yourself in an hour.

The ability to recapture childhood joy I guess? I mean damn is it stupid to be excited about it but hey that's brain chemicals for you.

Can't speak for people excited for them, but I wouldn't buy those hills. My local store used to have a couple of them and the sloped sides were slippery and no good for model placement. I've never been a fan of that feature. There are far more practical shapes for hills.

So we get the manor, the chaos temple and the hills. Rest are separate parts of the manor. The manor is nice, yes. The temple not so much if it isn't really cheap (and I doubt that). The hills... um...

Great, i really want that square tower, and might as well go for the full manor house.
Most other stuff I already got back in the day.

I only ever buy whats in my local store, so im looking forward to getting the fences and walls.

By the way, these nice scenery pieces is totally deserving of its own thread.

I think GW will price that stuff in a way that I'll be like: Well, I guess I'll just take the Archon version for 1/3 of the price or the GF9 version prepainted for 1/2 of the price...

I have been on a massive classic GW terrain kick lately and waiting for this exact announcement. Really glad it's not MTO, they are going to sell so many damn Manors.

I don't get the excitement about hills, either. Even back then, their price was high for what you got and functionality mediocre at best.

The walls? The walls are great, you won't find nicer sculpts anywhere, every inch is full of detail, no repetition, and at the time they went OOP they were still only about 20€.

I'd rather see the big Modular Hill, but that would be even more dumb expensive.

Hot take, tho. I've always thought the Arcane Ruins suck.

I don't get the excitement for the hills, those are super easy to make from scratch, but the buildings are great!

I like all of them! I had most of them back in the day (except the hills), some I still have, other I have sold over the years, but they are great kits!

The Arcane Ruins were great for some TK scenery (keep some columns and a topper for individual rubble, makes a few pieces from the kit)

The hills looks nice from having seen them, but were not practical, slippery for the models, and had that hollow plastic clanky sound too (like the boards they were making).

Prices will certainly be a thing there tho, I don't expect to buy that much of those with today's prices

Fantasy armies - Retired (Tomb Kings, Vampires, Empire, Chaos Warriors/Daemons, Dark Elves)

Tyranids army - Ever evolving, but about 10k pts
Custodes - 3,500pts (Fully painted yay!)
Thousand Sons - 4,000 pts
Eldar - 3,000pts

I love those Arcane Ruins, and they seem optimal for different scales...

How much?

Oh nice! I already have the larger modular hill, which is made to fit my Realm Of battle board tiles perfectly, will be adding one or two of these small hills to the collection as well. I doubt they will be less fiddly than the larger ones, especially when superdetailed further with texture pastes, sand and whatnot (no flock for me pls, the flocking on my 2ndhand RoB tiles keeps falling off more and more upon every game, much prefer sand etc)

Is someone seriously hating on this plastic terrain just because of the sound it makes?
