Hi gang.
With access to adult money with which to buy all the Warhammer that we dreamed of as children, occasionally comes the boring adult-ing of bills and financial planning.
Whilst doing such adulting *shudder* yesterday morning I discovered that somehow for the last year-and-a-half I had been paying a monthly subscription to audible I had no idea was going out of my bank account.
Having promptly cancelled it, I then received an email this morning to tell me that I had 4 weeks to use all of my audible 'credits' I had built up during this time, or lose them forever!
Each 'credit' buys me one 'audible' audio book.
So... I have 4 weeks to select 18 audio books.
Any recommendations?

Brutal Kunnin, by your namesake Mike Brooks. Super popular, and has a fun feel you might like. There's a sequel, Da Big Dakka
And then the Management of Savagery, Sword of Honor by Waugh, My War Gone By I Miss It So, and possibly Prince of Marshes. These are all about war. Boom, bambambambam, explosions, blood.
All Aunt Hagar's Children is one of the best books you can get on audible but it doesn't have many guns. Fly Already by Etgar Keret is also on there, and idk most of his characters are technically amry men of some kind

40K wise I'd recommend these -
The Eisenhorn books (Xenos, Malleus, Hereticus. There is also a 4th called The Magos which is a collection of short stories in addition to a full length book).
The Bequin books (Pariah and Penitent. Series still to be concluded in a 3rd book).
If you really want to go overboard on the Dan Abnett stuff then there is also the Ravenor trilogy.
If the horus heresy is of interest I'd recommend starting with the first three books (Horus Rising, False Gods and Galaxy in Flames). There are plenty of other good books in the series but I'd recommend doing some research as they vary in quality, but the first 3 are decent and cover the ground work).

Enigmatic Chaos Sorcerer
The dark hollows of Kentucky
|
The Night Lords Omnibus (not sure if that will count as one selection or three.?), and The Lords of Silence. Basically the two best CSM books that exist, IMHO. That's just sticking with 40k, of course.

I just finished listening to "The Reverie" which was a sort 40K-ified version of the Heart of Darkness - dark stuff, morality, space marines maybe not being all they are cracked up to be. Maybe some heresy thrown in for good measure. It was excellent.
