Hey ho,

The following article is confirming the release of the emperors children, finally.

https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/n0r1r2dr/the-ecstatic-epistle-mysterious-renders-from-the-41st-millennium/?utm_source=CUSTOMERS&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=gw_18th_november_news_roundup_gw_18th_november_news_roundup_B&utm_content=gw_18th_november_news_roundup_B&utm_term=%2F

How do you think the story will be written that brings the EC back together as a cohesive force? Or do you think they will be a collection of loosely aligned warbands,

Most of the EC openly resent their primarch. And eidelon and fulgrim do not get on well at all (fulgrim chopped his head off) and Fabius point blank refused to lead the EC when he had the opportunity. And many of the leaders of the fragmented legion are seeking their own perfection, kingdom and apotheosis.

I think this has the potential to be either a smash hit or big miss if they half arse the story.

I’d love to see Fabius play a bigger role but it would take a big character change for him to take the lead but we know they will bring Fulgrim back. I suppose they will come up with a reason as to why fulgrim needed to leave the palace of slaneesh

I hope the Codex will allow players to run representations of any EC archetype they want, from a force of arrogant perfection to a mutated hedonistic mess. If that's the case, whatever they do with the story will work just fine.

Rules rarely enforce background material so I don't think anything will be particularly restricted in the Codex (no Eidolon if you have Fulgrim, for example - if Eidolon is even in the book). I'm much more concerned with them not messing up the rules than the background. It's much easier to ignore bad background when playing than it is to ignore bad rules.

I don't care what they do for rules, I just want corrupted EC for my 30k Siege era EC.

Background is what I'm interested in.

I think the Ynari pose a real threat to Slaanesh, and that "She who thirsts" is driven to get the band back together after Yvraine, Jain Zar and Lilith get further into Slaanesh's realm that expected- perhaps even putting the final Cronesword back in play.

The cool side effect here is that it also serves as a bridge to merge Cult Marines with their Daemonic allies, as some have speculated may be happening this edition.

Personally, I think the Infernal Enrapturess would look great in a band with some Noise Marines.

I have a feeling that sonic weapons will available to more than just noice marines. Lucius and eidelon have a doom siren so hopefully other characters will have them aswell and there are some demon engines with big sonic weapons.

I’m also hoping for jet bikes as EC should be a fast attack army imo.

I didn’t consider that eldar could be the catalyst for the legion getting back together but that would be a cool story. Fabius knows how to grow wraithbone and draw power from soul stones (i think) so there is also a good option for a kill team box of eldar vs EC fighting over artifacts on a lost craft world

Yeah, an Eldar vs EC box for KT, 40k or both would be super cool... Especially if it had some Aeldari terrain.

It would be tough on the wallet, and damn near impossible to avoid buying.
