I was flicking through some of my older books and i noted that per Epic 40k it states.....

"400 m32: Last of the Space Marine Primarchs dies."

Per the 2017 Space Marine Rulebook timeline, it puts the following passage after the entry for the War of the Beast (546.M32)

"M31-M32 THE AGE
OF REBIRTH [---]And Then There Were None
Shorn of the Emperor’s physical presence,
the remaining loyalist Primarchs attempt
to fill the leadership void. Many battles are
fought, and one by one the Primarchs are
lost to the Imperium. Roboute Guilliman is
struck down by Fulgrim, and his mortally
wounded body is put into a stasis field.
Jaghatai Khan of the White Scars is last
seen entering the webway, and Leman Russ,
gene-sire of the Space Wolves, disappears,
said to have entered the Eye of Terror. The
last records of Vulkan, Primarch of the
Salamanders, are also from this period."

Annnnd per the 8th Edition core rulebook it states

XENOS RISING: M32. With so much strength siphoned off by the countless battles of the previous millennium, the Imperium was ill-equipped to deal with the growing threat from the myriad xenos races, which became ever bolder and more predatory, closing in on all sides. Even star systems once thought impregnable were besieged. Tragedy heaped upon tragedy as Roboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines and Lord High Commander of the Imperium, was mortally wounded by the Daemon Primarch Fulgrim

So my question is thus, whilst fully accepting the probability that the lore covering Primarchs (loyalist or otherwise) was not fully codified during Epic 40k, between the dates of 2017 and 1997, has there been any other kind of hints/implication regarding the timeline of the Primarchs? Ie, is there a source anywhere that might've said, for example, Primarch _____ died in ____M32 etc etc

I'm curious to see what has changed between 'now' and then.

The big one is Vulkan being pushed back after the War of the Beast, although he had disappeared prior to the war and was refound before disappearing again.

I think the Abaddon series gives some more clarity on when Dorn supposedly perished.

They boarded the Sword of Sacrilege before it could flee and recovered what remained of Rogal Dorn.

Much like a good horror story... only the hand remains!

Heck, if Dan Abnett can finish a series, his mysterious man in Yellow might be Constantin Valdor or Rogal Dorn.

For a specific timeline, we have:

The Lion - Disappears in 014.M31 during the Fall of Caliban.

Corvus Corax - Disappears in 022.M31 heading towards the Eye of Terror after a year of self-imposed exclusion.

Rogal Dorn - Is killed/disappears in 034.M31 while boarding the Sword of Sacrilege.

Jaghatai Khan - Disappears into the Webway following Drukhari raiders in 091.M31.

Roboute Guilliman - Is mortally wounded by Fulgrim on Thessala in 121.M31.

Leman Russ - Leaves the Fang in 209.M31.

Vulkan - Disappears then reappears during the War of the Beast on Caldera before being lost in a confrontation with what is found to be one of many Beast Warbosses.

Kind of fitting that russ was the first loyalist found and the last to leave, heralding the end of the age of primarchs.

Vulkan coming back later doesn't count, his comic book invulnerability shenanigans are lame.

Ever since those Marneus Calgar comics came out from Marvel, I've been expecting Vul-pool, the Indestructible Primarch with a Mouth.

Sure thing:

Ferrus Manus - Is killed by Fulgrim at the Dropsite Massacre in 566006.M31.

Sanguinius - Is killed by Horus at the Siege of Terra in 14.M31.
